POOLE Town coach Steve Cuss is predicting a stern test for the title-chasers when Newport (IOW) visit Tatnam (7.45pm).

Dolphins are on course to retain the Sydenhams Wessex Premier title, but Cuss is taking nothing for granted against the mid-table Islanders, who held Poole to a 2-2 draw in October.

He said: “On their day, Newport are a good side and we will have to be at our best. Hopefully, with home advantage, we can keep our run going.”

Winger Trefor Smith is again named in the squad as he nears a return to full fitness.

Poole Town: (from) Jones, Whitley, Lloyd, Walker, Dovell, Gill, Richardson, Hubbard, Preston, Cook, Brown, Gates, Sturgess, S Smith, Poore, T Smith, Ackerman.

<•>Hamworthy United player-manager Simon Browne wants more of the same from his men when they visit Alresford Town (7.45pm).

Hammers recorded a 3-0 win at Lymington on Saturday and the County Ground chief said: “It would be a shame to go back to being inconsistent.”

Right-back Mike Antrobus is unavailable, so James Merritt is likely to deputise.
