WIMBORNE Town boss Steve Cuss says the Cuthbury faithful can play a key role in helping the Magpies overcome their alarming home slump.

Magpies will be bidding to end a five-match winless home run when they host Southern League Division One South &West rivals Shortwood United tonight (7.45pm).

Cuss said: “Our supporters have been fantastic. We need them to continue getting behind us as we go through this difficult period. We have to battle our way out of this and put up a good performance against Shortwood.”

Adam Costello, who tweaked a hamstring during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Paulton Rovers, is a doubt, although Shaun Brian is likely to return.
