JOE Roach’s young charges romped to a comfortable victory after they were afforded the rare luxury of showcasing their talents at Dean Court.

Goals from first-years Tim Stephenson, Danny Ings and substitute Matt Kemble confirmed Cherries’ superiority over the U’s.

Boss Roach said: “It was a great opportunity to play at Dean Court. We were struggling to find a facility so Eddie allowed us to play on the pitch, which was a bonus.

“In the first 15 minutes, it probably suited Oxford better than it suited us because we were under pressure to perform on our ground.

“Although we looked a little tentative to start with, once we scored the first goal, we took complete control of the game, more so in the second half.

“Collectively, we did really well and there were also some excellent individual displays. After a few early jitters, we were more than comfortable.”

Cherries: Thomas, Annetts (Green, 62), Stephenson, Magookin (Kemble, 72), Preston, Davidson, Burbidge, Hill, Webb, Ings (Holmes, 65), Hutchings.
