FORMER Dean Court hero Carl Fletcher expressed his delight at the loan signing of Mark Molesley after he had made his Plymouth debut.

Argyle boss Fletcher returned to his old club to secure Molesley’s services for an initial month ahead of the deadline for loan deals last Thursday.

Cherries midfielder Molesley, sent out by manager Eddie Howe to gain valuable game-time, played the full 90 minutes in Plymouth’s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Chesterfield in League Two on Saturday.

And former Cherries captain Fletcher praised the impact of 31-year-old Molesley.

Fletcher told Argyle’s official website: “He is experienced and he has played in this league before.

“He showed some real good energy and quality, keeping the ball and making forward runs. We are really pleased to have him here.”

A number of other Cherries players featured on loan duty – with young striker Jayden Stockley the leading performer.

Urged by boss Howe to make the most of his spell at Woking, Stockley answered that call by netting twice for the Cards in their 7-0 hammering of Farnborough at Kingfield in the FA Trophy first round.

Homegrown frontman Stockley, who made 10 appearances during a loan stint at League Two Accrington Stanley last season and was handed his Football League debut by Howe in October 2009, will remain with Woking until January.

Elsewhere, Wes Thomas was introduced as a 68th-minute substitute as Blackpool fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home against Watford in the Championship.

Jon Meades and Steven Gregory played full matches as AFC Wimbledon were defeated 3-1 at Morecambe, while Aristide Bassele featured for an hour as Lincoln City lost at Tamworth.

Young midfielder Josh Wakefield was an unused substitute when Dagenham & Redbridge beat Fleetwood 1-0 in League Two.

Defender Baily Cargill made his AFC Totton debut against Forest Green.
