Poole Town: Howes' career in the balance after challenge (with video)

POOLE Town midfielder Glenn Howes faces an anxious wait to discover whether his career could have come to a premature end following an injury sustained on Saturday.

The 29-year-old sustained serious cartilage and ligament damage when he was caught by a tackle from Merthyr Town's Nathan Davies, who was immediately sent off.

See tomorrow's Echo for the full story and watch the video of the challenge above.

In all the years I've been in football. That is without dought the worse tackle I've seen. The player who did this should be banned for life.

Disgusting idiotic tackle again, these players wont learn untill the SPINELESS F.A ban these players for as long as the player injured recovers, having seen the Lowe tackle on Elphic a few weeks ago, never thought I would see another like it for many years, but there we go again, three game ban is a joke, Wish young Howe all the best wishes for his recovey,

It was a blatant red card!

Although...Nathan is not a dirty player! In fact I am quite disgusted that this video clip has been distributed. I know that Merthyr were not going to show the clip out of respect to Poole and the player involved.

This video should not be put out for public display until the FA see it! I am furious that Poole have put this out and glorify a really bad injury for all to see! Disgusting piece of media work! You should be ashamed!

My thoughts are with Glenn who I know personally from his time as a fitness coach at my local gym in Eastleigh. If you are reading this mate, best wishes for a full recovery.
