PRICES of Vauxhall cars are to rise by an average of 2.1%, the

Luton-based company said yesterday. The increases -- which come into

effect from midnight on Tuesday night -- mean that the price of the best

seller of the Cavalier range, the LS 1.8i hatchback, will rise by #185

to #11,760. The Corsa Merit 1.2i three-door goes up #125 to #6,495.

Vauxhall light commercial vans will also be going up an average 2.1%.

1The Vauxhall increase follows a 2% to 3% rise by Ford earlier this

week.
