YOUNGSTERS from Swanage’s St George’s First School have teamed-up with the Langton Matravers Allotment Association in a bid to grow fresh produce.
Allotment association member Collette Drayson said: “There have been so many allotment holders on the plot helping the school to prepare the land for the coming season.”
The school will be growing fruit, vegetables and herbs, composting and creating wildlife habitats.
Collette said: “Members of the LMAA have recently given a presentation to the school. Pupils will have an opportunity to grow the biggest pumpkin and the tallest sunflower.”
The association, pictured, is known locally as The Priddle, in recognition of former Langton Matravers Parish Council chairman Norman Priddle.
