Fighting on after pub plan no-go at Buckhorn Weston

PUB chiefs have vowed to fight on after district planners turned down an application to build two staff cottages in the centre of an idyllic North Dorset village.

Brewery bosses want to turn staff flats inside the Stapleton Arms, Buckhorn Weston, into guest accommodation, and build two cottages to house workers adjacent to the pub.

But North Dorset District Council’s planning committee has given the thumbs-down to proposals for the semi-detached dwelling after safety fears surrounding a proposed nine-metre wide access road.
