SO, after a LOT of research and thinking about how much I want to leave myself to do on the day, I've decided I AM going to do flowers. Or rather, the folks and I will be doing them.
I've been experimenting to see what's doable and what I've come up with is a series of small "vases" (teacups, jamjars, bottles) on each table with a bigger one in the centre.
Here are a couple of pictures from the table we did for my dad's birthday this weekend.
They're crysanths, fressias and some stuff out of the garden, so not at all expensive. For the wedding I'm going to use roses, aster, and maybe alstroemeria as well, plus herbs we're going to grow.
I'm probably going to get the flowers from Nursery Fresh in Winchester - they'll deliver to the venue the night before or to the house before that, although I think I'll need to do a test run beforehand to see how the flowers arrive and what they look like. They have just won a silver gilt at the Chelsea flower show though, so I'm not worried! Now all I have to do is worry about the bouquet!
