Lorry destroyed after huge fire at Wareham landfill

A LORRY was destroyed after a huge fire at a landfill in Wareham.

Firefighters were called to Trigon Hill shortly before 9.30am on Thursday, July 3, to reports of a blaze.

Fire crews from Bere Regis and Poole attended the scene along with a Unimog from Wareham.

A second Unimog from Wareham and a further crew from Poole later attended to assist.

A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said at the time: "We were called at 9.24am today to Trigon Hill, Wareham to reports of a vehicle fire involving a lorry.

"Crews from Bere Regis and Poole along with a unimog from Wareham are currently in attendance. Firefighters are using two hose reel jets to extinguish.

"A second unimog from Wareham and crew from Poole are have now been mobilised.

“Firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fire and are using two hose reel jets and two main lines to extinguish."
