Vehicle fire breaks out on Higher Blandford Road in Poole

FLAMES engulfed a vehicle at the side of a road in Poole.

Higher Blandford Road, near Corfe Hills School, is blocked after the car burst into flames.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) said: "We were called at 3.20pm today to Higher Blandford Road, Poole, to reports of a vehicle fire.

"One crew from Poole is currently in attendance, with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames."

Police are also at the scene assisting the fire service.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at 3.32pm of a vehicle fire on Higher Blandford Road.

"Officers have been asked to attend to assist the fire service with road closures and vehicle recovery."
