A TRACTOR has been destroyed by a fire after it was found 'well alight'.

Crews from Swanage Fire Station were initially called to an 'unknown fire' at 2am on Saturday, February 8.

Upon arrival, the team found a tractor 'well alight' at a recycling centre in Swanage.

A spokesperson for Swanage Fire Station said: "Crews got the fire under control using breathing apparatus and CAFs (compressed air foam)."

The team confirmed that Dorset Police were also in attendance at the incident.

They added that at the same time their crews attended the tractor fire, Wareham Fire Station were mobilised to alarms at a residential property in town.
