THE Daily Echo is offering two tickets to see the former Children’s Laureate and best-selling author, Dame Jacqueline Wilson, at the Lighthouse, Poole, hosted by Waterstones Bournemouth Castlepoint on Sunday, October 22.

With more than 100 published books to her name, Jacqueline has inspired thousands of children to enjoy reading and writing. She has engaged readers with often challenging themes ranging from divorce to adoption but her stories are always leavened with humour and her trademark lightness of touch.

She will be at the theatre giving a talk about how she started her writing career and how she created some of her best-loved characters such as Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather as well as promoting her new book, Hetty Feather’s Christmas.

Jacqueline will not be signing but there will be printed signed book plates in all copies of Hetty Feather’s Christmas at the Waterstones book store stall at the theatre and there will also be some of her bestselling books available on the day.

Doors open at 1pm to enable people to buy any books they want, pick up a raffle ticket for a chance to meet and greet Jacqueline after the event and have a coffee and a bite to eat before the show starts at 2pm where Jacqueline will give a 30-45 minute talk.

Tickets are £7 adults and £5 children or £18 which includes entry and a copy of Hetty Feather’s Christmas (RRP £12.99) available from the theatre. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To enter the Echo competition to win two complimentary tickets, without the book, and a chance to be entered in the raffle to meet Jacqueline, tell us the name of Jacqueline Wilson’s latest book. Answers to michaela.horsfield@bournemouthecho.co.uk before October 10.
