THE body of a man found in a Bournemouth flat may have been there for several weeks, according to a neighbour.

Police were called to an address in Wallisdown Road just before 4.30pm on Monday where they found the man after breaking down the door.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Police were called to reports of a concern for welfare at an address on Wallisdown Road, Bournemouth.

"Officers attended and a man aged in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has been notified and the death is not being treated as suspicious."

A neighbour told the Daily Echo she had alerted police and the local authority because she had not seen the man for four weeks.
