BOURNEMOUTH and Poole are one of six regions that will receive extra funding to try and become a Sustainable Food City Region.
They will receive a share of £1million, which will allow a dedicated Sustain-able Food City manager to work with local partners and transform access to local, affordable and sustainable food.
Sarah Watson, the interim Sustain-able Food City manager for Bourne-mouth and Poole, said: “We are delighted and honoured that Bournemouth and Poole have become founding members of the Sustainable Food City movement.
Miles Mahoney, who works at the BCHA New Leaf community garden at Throop, said: “On a daily basis I see the benefits that food growing brings to people’s health and well-being so to be part of a wider partnership will make it more affordable to buy great products.”
