RE Andover report, 12 July: “Civic leader rejects call to resign – 1999 to 2013”. Even the president of America is not permitted to stay in office that long!
Test Valley Borough Council is like a dinosaur, i.e. it has a large body mass but a brain the size of a pea.
Ex-councillor David Drew burned out at the first serious challenge as regards Ron Wood’s endeavour to return the war memorial to outside the Guildhall.
Bye then, David. Enter Cllr Phil North!
He writes: “Regular readers will know that when I disagree with particular proposals I will speak out.”
He goes on to inform readers how wonderful he is: “Out of the 15 recommendations I made, 11 have already been progressed, including...free use of the Time Ring for performance artists...”
When the 2010 cenotaph campaign put up its display on the Time Ring, as dictated by the market supervisor, Test Valley Borough Council put in acomplaint that the tableand chair were “damaging the Time Ring”, and the display was ordered to be moved to the end of the High Street, then the next week, to “get out of the High Street” altogether.
