Councillors are celebrating a “stay of execution” for a well-loved Otley cafe.
Dunnies, off Bridge Street, had been earmarked for demolition as part of a scheme to build a 48-flat home for the over 60s on a derelict site next to it.
But planners at Leeds City Council rejected the proposal for the former All Saints Middle School site.
They agreed with residents’ concerns about the size, position and design of the Gladman Care homes development.
