POLICE cordoned off a block of flats in Bournemouth today after a man was found in ‘distress’.

Officers were called to Stirling Court on Richmond Park Road, Charminster, at 6.10am and a spokesman said investigations are underway to establish what happened to the man.

The large block of flats was sealed off with police tape trailing around the grounds and over a side gate.

A police officer was stationed at the entrance to the driveway.

Residents said they had been told there had been an assault but knew nothing more about the incident.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “At 6.10am on Friday, police were called to an incident at
Richmond Park Road, Bournemouth, by a member of the public.

“At the scene a man was found in distress and subsequently taken to hospital.

“At this time no further information is available.”
