Disgraced former Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne and his ex-wife Vicky Pryce are today sentenced for perverting the course of justice.
Former Cabinet minister Huhne has been given an eight month sentence, of which he will serve half. He was given a 10 per cent reduction in his sentence because he pleaded guilty the day before his trial was due to start.
Economist Pryce was also given eight months by Mr Justice Sweeney at Southwark Crown Court.
Pryce, 60, was found guilty last week of perverting the course of justice by taking speeding points for Huhne, 58, in 2003.
Perverting the course of justice carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, with an average sentence of around 10 months.
