Kitchen fire in Southbourne

A KITCHEN fire was found to be out on arrival by firefighters.

Crews from Christchurch and Springbourne were called to the property on New Park Road just before 6pm on Thursday.

They found the cause of the fire was unattended cooking, with the kitchen affected by smoke logging.

In other news, police went to a call from Charminster where no one was murdered. Council housing maintenance workers fixed a broken spout and a postman in Alder Hills could not deliver a recorded delivery because the recipient was not in.

"A KITCHEN fire was found to be out on arrival by firefighters."

You'd think the fire could have stayed in to greet the firefighters...

I do continue to question the massive amounts of time being spent by the fire service media team reporting others misfortune...do the team there really just spend all day, every day stating where call outs have been? Surely resources could/should be better spent/utilised?
