AIR pollution levels are expected to return to a low level today after the South Coast was hit by “Euro smog.”
Contaminated clouds which drifted across the English Channel on Tuesday were blamed for high levels of air pollution.
It was so bad this week it triggered advice to people with lung and heart problems to cut down on outdoor activities.
A Defra spokeswoman said pollution levels, which are affected by weather conditions, were expected to return to a low level today after the alert.
It comes just two months after a gas leak at a factory in France is caused a massive stink across the south of England.
In January Dorset Fire and Rescue Service received numerous calls reporting the smell of gas from across the Bournemouth conurbation with parents of pupils at Kinson Primary School asked to collect their children early due to the whiff.
