A woman was punched in the face by a fellow driver in a road rage assault in Christchurch.

A 44-year-old Christchurch woman was queuing in traffic in a black Ford Fiesta when another woman stepped out from an old style black VW Golf, which was waiting behind, and approached her.

The victim also stepped out of her car and received a punch to her face and a kick to her leg.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 1pm on Thursday 31 January 2013 at Stony Lane roundabout.

“She has been described as white, aged in her late forties and of large build. She has dark hair, a pierced lip and tattoos on both arms.

“I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident or the manner of driving of either vehicle or anyone who can identify the VW Golf driver to contact Dorset Police.”
