A MAN was left with serious injuries after his car collided with an ambulance in the New Forest yesterday.

Police are calling for witnesses after the crash, which happened between Everton Road and Old Christchurch Road in Everton at around 4.49pm.

The ambulance was responding to a call when it was involved in a collision with a Citroen Saxo.

A man in his early 20s has been left with serious leg and pelvic injuries, but there were no patients on board the ambulance at the time, and neither of the paramedics were hurt.

Officers are asking for the drivers of two dark-coloured saloon cars who slowed for the ambulance, and the driver of a white van seen close to the collision, to call in.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is also asked to get in touch by calling Hampshire Constabulary on 101, and quoting Operation Baritone.
