Traffic came to a stand still after a bus broke down on Cranborne Road this afternoon.
Dorset Police were called at around 4pm, and vehicles were believed to have tailed back along the A31 in the east-bound direction.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said that engineers from the bus company were called to repair the bus.
