RESIDENTS are being urged to contact the Forestry Commission or their local council if they spot any signs of Ash Dieback disease.
Ash Dieback disease was first noticed in this country earlier this year and cases have since been reported in 11 counties across the UK, both in nurseries and in the world.
The basic symptoms of the disease are early leaf curl, dead branches and lesions to the trunk.
A video and pictorial guide to symptoms is available at forestry.gov.uk/chalara
Enquiries regarding Ash Dieback disease on trees on private land within Bournemouth can be directed to Jerry Kelsey, Patrick Clarke or Andrew Cleaves in the tree section of the planning team on 01202 451323.
Concerns about any council managed trees can be directed to Bournemouth’s parks team on 01202 451629.
Any tree with symptoms matching the guide should be reported to the helpline on 08459 335577 or plant.health@forestry.gsi.gov.uk
