MORE than 600 people shook and shimmied their way through a variety of different dance styles at the fifth annual Bournemouth dance day.

The event at the Pavilion Theatre offered taster sessions of different dances, including ballroom, zumba, bollywood and line dancing.

This year, the Bournemouth Older People’s Forum were involved in the event, which aims to cater for all ages.

Pat Lewis, chair of the forum, said: “It was incredibly successful. People can come and go as they like but we find most people come and don’t really want to leave.

“It was a great event and we are already planning for next year.”
