A BARN was near-destroyed after a fire at Corfe Mullen on Wednesday night.
Fire appliances from Wimborne and Poole were sent to the scene at Brog Street at around 7.45pm to find the building well alight.
Police were also at the scene and closed some surrounding roads to help crews deal with the blaze safely.
Firefighters brought the flames under control at around 9.35pm, but the barn was left “nearly completed destroyed” a spokesman for the fire service said.
Part of the roof and walls collapsed and a large amount of timber was also damaged, as well as the contents of a metal storage container located inside the barn.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
