WITH the regular stories of the hard times many elderly are suffering in their own homes and some care homes, is it now time for a swap with the benefits given to the criminals in prison care?

It seems that the crooks have all the benefits of better food, heating and general facilities, even bleating if they can’t get the right Sky TV to watch.

I wonder how the prison budget compares to the financial help given to the needy elderly?

Prison hardly seems a deterrent these days but being put into care, especially for the frail and elderly is becoming a bit of a punishment.

Perhaps the crooks could have a spell of elderly medicine for a change?
