REFERENCE the police blue boxes. I am surprised that no mention has been made of the two on Castle Lane. One on the corner of Christchurch Road and the other on the corner with Charminster Road.
I remember another on the corner of Windham and Boscombe Grove roads. There were two police houses in the lower part of Holdenhurst Road which were demolished for the spur road.
Incidentally, the Castle Lane area was patrolled by Mr Bailey who lived in one of the police houses.
