I AM pleased to see that the controversial issue of Kelly’s Kitchen in Christchurch has at last been resolved and common sense has prevailed.

I would note from your article on Saturday that a councillor has noted that the unused shops must be telling us something. Obviously the reason is that rent or rates are too high.

As there would appear to be a new supermarket opening in Stoney Lane and another in the Beaulieu Road development and possibly another at the Style South development at Somerford, it would appear that Christchurch has an unlimited number of people to eat an unlimited amount of food.

Unfortunately this is not the case. These developments could possibly mean one or more of the three town centre stores closing.

This could have a knock-on effect in Castle Square, and mean the eventual demise of the high street.

Good luck, Kelly’s Kitchen.
