FURTHER to Michael Portillo’s visit to Poole station with regard to his Great British Railway Journeys TV programme following George Bradshaw’s 1840 railway guide book; last week, Dick and James Strawbridge Hungry Sailors programme visited and tied up at the Quay on their Poole-registered sailing ship.
In both instances, of course, the TV programmes were televised recently, but the visits were made last year.
This should help with tourism for the Poole area, and with other programmes like Ade In Britain, with Ade Edmonson.
They are all travelling the length and breadth of the country looking for unusual and traditional culinary delights and it seems as though our town is a favourite place for documentary and TV shows to visit.
