MAY I please appeal to the animal lovers who mistakenly believe they are feeding foxes by throwing their cooked turkey and chicken carcasses into the wooded areas in our town.
My area of concern is Strouden Woods, Bradpole Road Park.
My rescued dog, who is a scavenger, as are most dogs, was very ill after finding a turkey carcass in the area behind Normanhurst Avenue.
The bones splinter and can cause very serious injury. I have spoken to our vet and he confirms that cooked poultry bones can also be very harmful to foxes.
Thank you for your attention.
AUDREY BILES, Craigmoor Avenue, Bournemouth
