IWAS interested in the discussions regarding Green Bins in Poole. However, this matter has now assumed terrifying new implications.
I have received a letter from the “Regulatory & Licensing Services, Waste and Fleet Management” Poole – an impressive title, to say the least.
This informs me that I can have my garden waste collected, at a cost of £31 per annum, and that I can keep my 240-litre bin.
Why is this terrifying?
I do not have a 240-litre bin – I do not live in Poole – I am not prepared to pay Poole for any services, which I do not receive.
Is this an expansion policy by Poole ?
We in Corfe Mullen, have , for many years, viewed the Borough of Poole with some suspicion, since the “great divorce” from the county, which made it a unitary authority.
I live in Gladelands Way, half of which is in Poole, and the other half in East Dorset.
Most people know that Roman Road, which bisects it, is the boundary between Poole and East Dorset; obviously Poole do not.
The misunderstanding is complicated by the fact that the Post Office thinks we live in Broadstone, BH18, which is the postcode for us.
Thanks for the offer, but all my garden waste goes into excellent compost.
NEILL EVANS, Gladelands Way, Corfe Mullen
