I BELIEVE it is time for a pension scheme for dogs when they reach their 10th birthday. This equates to 70 years old and it is only just that they should receive the same as we humans do.

I urge all our loving dog owners of which there are many thousands to lobby their MP’s.

The dogs of course could not be means tested but they could be tested for meanness, e.g. if they have bitten people more than 10 times (avgerage of once a year) or have consistently excreted on the beach say more than once a week, their benefits would be reduced.

This would ensure our beloved friends will have a happy retirement in the event of their owners dying or being shot before them.
