WHY are we so scared to reform our roads when they clearly endanger us?

It is quite clear, from the citizens of Bournemouth, Poole and beyond, there is a massive problem with our roads.

There seems to be a hierarchy of danger in terms of transport in this country. Pedestrians are endangered by bicycles while cyclists are in danger from cars. It seems this is the cause for the anti-cyclist/motorist debate that goes on between the readers of the Daily Echo and beyond.

At times, it is hard to see how anyone can cycle without a viable infrastructure for the bike if we are neither wanted on road or pavement. Shouldn’t we follow the Danish model and embrace the bike?

It’s better to increase the number of cycle lanes, increase our respect between road users to avoid the sad stories of death and injury, which are becoming all too common.

To me, the attitude in the country is demeaning compared to the continent.

Instead of moaning at each other, we should improve our attitudes to one another. We should come as one to urge the council to solve what is a crisis once and for all.
