I WOULD like to bring to notice something that many dog owners seem to have forgotten. I was told by a police officer that it is still law that dogs must be on a lead by roads.
Today my wife saw an idiot with an unrestrained dog walking down the road when for no reason the dog darted into oncoming traffic.
Thankfully the driver had the ability to make an emergency stop. The dog owner grabbed the dog by the collar and dragged it back to the pavement because they did not even appear to have a lead for it.
This kind of thoughtless act could have caused an accident that may have killed or injured someone and I wonder what the dog owner would have thought of that.
