BOURNEMOUTH council has gone road-hump mad. In recent weeks there have been road works on the approaches to Stourfield Junior School in Boscombe East.
There are now two sets of road humps in Clingan Road which appear to be totally unnecessary as you have to stop at one-way traffic lights to negotiate the railway bridge before approaching the school. This negates all possibilities of approaching the school at any speed.
There are further new humps in Cranleigh Road. This road is impossible to drive along at any speed higher than 20 miles per hour due to all the parked cars along both sides of the road which mostly allows only single file traffic at any time of day along the relevant stretch.
In times of council cutbacks how much has this work cost? Have there been fatalities in this area to warrant this expense?
Throughout the borough recently there are new road humps springing up in all directions. Who is responsible?
They are a nightmare to motorists and I am sure can do lasting damage to suspension on cars. Let’s hear from the powers that be their reasoning behind this expenditure.
