IF A churchyard is closed for burials (‘Don’t give our cash to wealthy C of E’), the PCC can request the local authority to take over the maintenance, such as happened at St Peter’s, Bournemouth about 40 years ago.
So, the proposed improvements at St Peter’s, with the support of the PCC, are an initiative of Bournemouth Council who are responsible for the costs involved.
