IT seems ice skating might well not return to the BIC during the summer. This facility is obviously popular but it is needed as a permanent fixture as has been stated many times.
What parent is going to buy ice skates for a growing child and encourage the sport when two to three months later the rink has gone?
What about ice hockey clubs and speed skating to keep youngsters occupied in evenings and weekends instead of pubs and bars. The social side that spins off ice skating used to be excellent and we never saw an obese ice skaters.
