BOURNEMOUTH’S Lib Dems are asking not to be judged on the performance of the coalition government, instead, we should judge them on what they have done in Bournemouth (Echo, March 5).
In 2003 the Lib Dems swept into power in Bournemouth promising to save the Winter Gardens, yet within three years it was demolished and replaced with yet another car park.
One could say the local Lib Dems are ahead of the national party in the broken promises stakes.
If Cllr Claire Smith and her colleagues disagree with coalition polices, perhaps they are in the wrong party!
