WE'VE seen it before, almost on a weekly basis, haven't we? but this time it's: 'Barclays Boss Gets £6.5million Bonus' (Echo, March 8); and at some point the government said they would put a stop to it.

Well, as ever, they lied. Most, if not all of the parties, are sponsored by the banks, so they're not going to rock the boat, are they? Indeed, just because they have the power, does it mean that they have the right to be so deceitful?

The numerous expenses scandals have proven that we are governed, no matter the political persuasion, by liars, and charlatans, so it comes as no surprise. And they aren't going to bite the hand that feeds, so we had better get used to it.

But in these troubled times, along with David Cameron's unwavering tunnel-vision to see the UK as a collection of run down shanty-towns in tattered ruins; it doesn't half rub salt into an already very sore wound, doesn't it?
