I REFER to the new proposed marina in Poole Harbour and would like to make the following comments for a starter.

1. The commissioners recently laid off in the region of 44 staff because of a shortage of money but now intend to spend 20 to 25 million

2. This project will extend out to the edge of the Wareham Channel diverting the main tidal flow which must affect the harbour in this area and no doubt will silt up the waters to the front of Hamworthy Park and will considerably affect views up and down the harbour.

3. The beach; who will have access to it and who will want to sit on a beach facing Hamworthy Park?

4. The Harbour Commissioners are aware that the two new bridges will cause considerable problems for boats leaving and entering Holes Bay to get to the Marinas within the Bay.

They clearly wish to make pots of money by taking this trade, at the expense of the second largest harbour in the world.

Will they ever stop slowly filling it in for cash? I would have thought they had a duty to protect it.

5. Views of Brownsea Island from Hamworthy Park will be lost.
