ON MAY 5, voters will be asked to vote in a referendum on the Alternative Voting system of electing our parliamentary representatives (MPs).
AV is a system practised in only Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Nick Clegg and his Liberal Democrats want this system in Britain.
But before we make such an irrevocable move, the pressure group NO2AV is setting up a national tour of Town Hall debates in 20 locations across Britain and Northern Ireland so that we can learn the pros and cons of such a momentous constitutional change.
This debate comes to Bournemouth on Friday, March 18. Everything is in place except that YES 2AV campaign has yet to take-up the gauntlet.
