I agree totally with the boss of Beales about the Bournemouth town centre market.
Having made a special journey to see what I believed to be a German-style Christmas Market, I was very disappointed to find I had wasted my time.
No one seemed to be patronising the assorted huts and no wonder. They were so repetitious – an amazing number sold only wooly hats and scarves – and apart from one which sold clocks there was nothing worth looking at or buying.
This was nothing like a German Christmas Market, but a lot like a very ordinary British street market. It does nothing for the image of Bournemouth Town Centre and seems full of missed opportunity. The town deserves better than this rather sorry attempt at a festive market.
