AS your readers who live in Oakdale are aware there is now a 20mph zone and speed reducing humps in Vicarage Road and parts of Stanley Green Road, Shottsford Road and at one end of Palmer Road.

This has been implemented, presumably, because of the schools in the area, especially Stanley Green First.

But what about Oakdale South Road Middle, just off Palmer Road, where I have noticed with interest that motorists are able to drive at 30mph and there are no speed-reducing humps.

What is the logic on having a 20mph zone at one end of Palmer Road and an increase to 30mph where the school is situated some 200 metres away?
