Bernard Clark (Have Your Say, November 30) is wrong if he belies it is appropriate in the 21st century to impose his own religious beliefs on others.
The UK is a multi-faith and multi racial society and as such there is now no need for Christmas stamps, Christmas trees or any other overt public celebration of what is basically a one-faith festival.
What people choose to do in the privacy of their own homes is a matter for them of course, and everyone should be free to celebrate in private whatever they choose and in whatever way they feel to be appropriate.
What I would like to see is Christmas and Easter abolished as public holidays and replaced with non faith-specific days of celebration – and while we are about it let’s call them some else other than holy-days! – that those of all faiths or none can enjoy.
