MIKE Greene asks us all to register our disapproval of the off-shore windfarm planned for the Dorset coast (Have Your Say, November 29).
This appears somewhat presumptuous. If nothing else, he assumes we can take his word on the matter and that we are unable to form our own opinions.
The company website intended to inform us, encowindoffshore.co.uk, is of the common anodyne type for such corporate developments.
At this early stage there is not much for the public to base any opinion on, except an image of distant structures far out to sea. Indeed, at this stage the developers are seeking comment rather than public opinion.
So registering disapproval today demonstrates little except a nimby tendency, or a robust aversion to all windfarms, or perhaps both.
Given the urgent need to reduce out greenhouse gas emissions, such blanket opposition to off-shore wind power is surely pure lunacy.
