I found Mr Chalkley’s reply to my letter of November 26 (Fast and furious at speed trap blow) rather sarcastic.
It avoided the point I tried to make.
Yes, Mr Chalkley, the Highway Code does say “or are so close to the (traffic light) white line that to stop might cause an accident” but it also gives accepted stopping distances and if one is a metre or so inside this distance the possibility of crossing the line and causing an accident exists.
That is what I termed in my letter as “The wrong moment”, but I thought that was obvious!
