Today I received a letter from the Sandbanks beach office confirming that the increase in beach hut charges for 2011 will be 15 per cent.
The letter also stated that a further letter will follow with my individual charge.
The cost of sending a letter to every beach hut tenant in Poole was an absolute waste of the council tax money.
The postage paid on my letter was 36p and was delivered the next day. Add to this the cost of paper and printing, secretarial time etc, I bet this one letter cost the residents of Poole a considerable sum.
Come on – we are all going to have to accept cutbacks and increased costs in 2011. Can Poole council staff adopt the slogan ‘think before you send a letter’?
