Has Ed Perkins the remotest idea of the relationship between British Prime Ministers and alcohol (Opinion, September 2)?
A hundred years ago, HH Asquith (Liberal) was not nicknamed ‘Squiffy’ for nothing and as for Winston Churchill (Tory), his consumption was Olympian!
Tony Blair (Labour), was practically teetotal by comparison, with his “stiff whisky and a couple of glasses of wine” of an evening!
